S Type - 10 KG to 1000 KG

S-type load cell is a transducer that converts mechanical force into an electrical signal, using a distinctive S-shaped sensing element to measure both tension and compression forces in applications like weighing scales and force testing. Strain gauges embedded in the cell's body deform under load, changing their electrical resistance and producing a signal proportional to the applied force. Known for their accuracy, reliability, compact design, and suitability for limited spaces, S-type load cells are commonly made from high-strength materials like stainless steel.

How it works

  1. S-Shaped Design

The load cell's name comes from its unique S-shaped sensing element, allowing it to handle both pulling (tension) and pushing (compression) forces.

  2. Strain Gauges

Inside the load cell are strain gauges, which are sensitive to deformation.

  3. Force Application

When a force is applied, the metal body of the load cell flexes, causing the strain gauges to stretch or compress.

  4. Electrical Signal

This physical deformation changes the resistance of the strain gauges, which is then converted into a measurable electrical output signal proportional to the applied force.
